About Me
I live my life in Two Worlds - my native United States and my ancestor's Italy - and I work as a freelance reporter for numerous American publications from wherever I am. The Italians consider me American. The Americans consider me Italian. I consider myself distinctly Italian American.Author of Fun with the Family New Jersey (Globe Pequot Press Travel, 2012), I cover family travel with emphasis on Italy and New Jersey, and things I've learned that have either entertained or helped my family in this blog. My husband Antonio and our Baby Boy join me on my adventures. I hope you will, too. Benvenuto!
Love for the U.S.A.

A few weeks ago, my cousin Gigino and his wife Flavia graciously invited me for a day at Nitrodi, a spot in Ischia where there are fountains of naturally warm water that revitalizes the skin and body. (See Nitrodi Showers](http://www.francescadimeglio.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/view4.jpg)

At the beginning of September every year, the people of Ischia, Italy practically do a rain dance hoping that the summer heat turns to fall showers. The reason? It's not just to cool off the island.
